”It was taken for the cover of Vogue, but they were worried the US Postal Service would declare [it so risque] the magazine would have to be sent in an envelope. So they moved the photo inside [the magazine].”
Naturally the story got out, and the US press asked Curlett if she had been embarrassed about having to pose nude. ”Oh no. Mr Bruehl was a perfect gentleman, and I was adequately clad in his shadows.”
